F.A.Q.:
If these Frequently Asked Questions (and answers) don't give you all the info you need, please give KStar Design a shout and we'll be happy to chat with you!
Q:What's the advantage to choosing booties that are "in stock"?
A: Booties that are "in stock" have already been knitted up, had their colour-matching hand-cross-stitched label created
for them and stitched on, and labelled with a printed size tag tied onto them with glossy white cross-stitch floss. They
are ready to go as a perfect gift, or just done up as a nice treat if you are purchasing them as a new item of clothing
for your own sweet little one. This saves a lot of time between when the order is sent in and when it can be shipped out,
so that is a big advantage! The only disadvantage is that you are not able to choose the beads and yarn choices yourself,
but there are a variety of booties of different sizes and yarn colours in stock so that hopefully there might be something
there that strikes your fancy to save you this step.
Q: How much does Shipping & Handling cost?
A: Currently, shipping costs are $2 within Canada and $3 to the United States. This may change without notice on the website
if the cost of shipping changes for me at the post office, but you will be informed of any change when you place your order.
Your baby booties are carefully packages to ensure they travel safely to your destination! For out-of-country shipping, check
your country's policies about paying duty taxes at the border.
Q: Can I add more beads to booties that already come with beads?
A: Even if your custom booties already have beads, you can add or change the beads in the following ways...
1. If you'd like to change from standard beads to "perfect" beads, choose that option and specify the colour
(in this case, it will not matter what colour you chose for the original bootie order).
2. You may also add additional beads to beaded Baby Booties - just add one set of
extra beads for each extra 3 beads of the same colour. Please specify the number of beads in the
special instructions space and any specific ideas about placement (if applicable).
Q: What about colours? Can I have more than 1 colour of bead and ribbon?
A: Normally the booties would be created with all beads of the same colour and would be placed on the
"top of the foot" area before the sock climbs to the top. This is because the booties can be worn with the sock part
flipped up or folded over and you wouldn't want to cover the beads by folding it over. When combining a ribbon and a
set of beads, the ribbon will be places in the usual place (at the base of the "sock") and the beads will be placed
at the very edge of the toes (they rest there in many of the pics on this page).
For special requests beyond these combinations (if you'd like different colours of beads on the same booties, for
example), you can e-mail us
ahead of time to see if your idea would be possible and to get a price on the custom order. Chances are that even if your
exact idea isn't doable for your budget, we can come up with a way to create something you are very happy with!
Q: What's the difference between regular beads and the perfect beads?
A: The regular beads can have slight variations whereas the "perfect" beads are manufactured in a way that ensures each one
is exactly identical to each of the others. They are slightly smaller and have a straighter edge but have the same size hole to
be knitted into the yarn. They are twice as expensive from my supplier so unfortunately I have to make up those costs somehow!
